British law firm ACS: Law is facing fines after leaking data revealing the private information of thousands of Sky broadband subscribers, including names and email addresses. The Law firm had the user information after alleging that these users have been illegally sharing content from adult websites. The fines could be as much as $790,000.

The leak occurred when the law firm faced a security attack, which left their email archive accessible to the public. Copies of the archives have since been shared via torrent sites, like The Pirate Bay. At least 4,000 users’ information have been compromised, but it could be as many as 12,000.
